    Hi.
I have succesfully ripped, shrunk and burned several DVD movies that *i own*

I tried to backup three movies yesterday- and EVERY disc since has failed :( (DVD-R)
    I'm up to 20 coasters now :(

when I use Nero6.3.1.17 i am having persistent burn failures.
I thought it might be the movies I ripped/shrunk so I re-tried some I have succesfully done already.
    THEY ALSO FAIL NOW!!! ????
    Can anyone advise please?

Here is a recent log from Nero ROM:

This will be part of your problem - DMA should be enabled. Also remove your serial numbers from your post.

ok, DMA is now enabled for my DVD drive.
    BUT
    Still have 100% failures :(

would DMA off affect the backup I did with DVDShrink/DVD decrypter?

What brand of disc's are you using?

InCD is a known problem for backing up DVD's on many computers. If you don't have a reason that you need to use InCD (most people don't) and any time there are burning problems, InCD should be removed.

You still have DMA off on your DVD/CD ROM drive - this will affect your tranfers

turned all IDE controllers to DMA (Ultra DMA) and the virtual drives obviously I have cant be DMA enabled.

re installed ASPI layer too... and STILL no joy :(
    think i might cry LOL

last attempt to un-install Nero etc, then will re-install and see if that cures it...

    right just tried with recode.
burn got 12% along and then exited..
within the log some more info was available- this error stood out:

    19:41:12 #25 SCSI -1135 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1442

Does this mean my scsi controller is damaged?
Or is it identifying the media as the cause of the failure?

    Thanks guys..

silly as it sounds- I used forceASPI last night.
    rebooted.
    burned a DVD-R. failed.

in furstration I tried DVD-RW (Verbatim) and lo an behold it worked perfectly! grrrr
so I think yeah- maybe the DVD-R media I have is sensitive to dirt in the drive/lens?
The -RW had NO problems whatsoever...

    i hate computers ;)

Hi, Seems like I have exacctly the same problem. Even the Nero's error logs are nearly identical. Strange things are, I have 2 PC with both DVD burner and the same problem started one after another. And both of them were working fine. I burned at least 40 DVDs without problem on both and now I only can burn on DVD+ -RW but not on DVD-R discs.
And now I remember that i heard my colleague's Burner was doing the same 2 weekss prior to me.
After reading your message, I have a feeling that there might be any Virus or Malware spreading now on Doanload community.
If any of you hear anything like that PLEASE let me know.

    Thanks.

    Hi, bradw,

I have found work around, at least it worked for me. All my DVD-R which failed on Nero and A.120%, in this way it worked . So far, I have burned 5 DVDs on both my PCs. So Please try it. The DVD-RW is so expensive. You should take it as a final solution.

Try "[bold]Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3[/bold]:

    1. If you already have "VIDEO_TS" files created for the disc you want to burn. this is the way to burn DVD.
There is an icon called "[bold]Copy Disc[/bold]" in the menu screen. Click it and follow the screen.

    2. And if you already have Image of DVD which you want to Burn. Try smaller Icon (at the bottom of the menu screen) called "[bold]Burn from Disc Image[/bold]", this will work to Burn DVD.
It should be ISO format. but that you can easily created it using "Masic ISO".

Any way it worked for me and hope that it for you as well.

But I really hope Someone can find what did caused this and how to solve this.
