I have a 720x480 letterboxed mpeg. When I load it into divx and view list, it says the resolution is 720x528. I double checked with gspot, it's 720x480. If I convert it as is, there is a thick black bar at the bottom of the screen, nothing on top. If I modify the file in view list, checking Use Custom Resolution, and moving the sliders so that they say 720x480, it still comes out off centre. What am I doing wrong? I want the resulting divx conversion to look like the original mpeg.
See if this helps. Run VirtualDubmod and load or drag the AVI into the window. 'Video' > 'Full Processing mode' 'Video' > 'Filter' > 'Add' > (Select the Null Transform filter) > 'OK' > 'Cropping' (I think you have to keep the number of pixels even) 'Adjust as required > 'OK' > 'OK'. 'Video' > 'Compression' > 'XVid Mpeg4' > 'OK' 'File' > 'Save as AVI' VirtualDubMod http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=65889 If required: XVid Codec http://www.xvid.org/
