    hi everyone,

I currently have a few ogg vorbis files that i need to convert to mp3. The ogg files are at 192kbs.

What bitrate is it advisable to convert to so that the least amount of quality loss is experienced?
I am using the LAME encoder with dbpoweramp, is there a better or recommended encoder?

    thanks

If you don't intend to put them on an MP3 player then there is no need to convert. OGG is a better format than MP3. Also converting a lossy format to another lossy format will result in quality being lost.

A program like dBPowerAMP can suit your needs. Just google the name

    hi weazel200,

thanks. I understand that i am going to experince quality loss, but what bitrate would help minimise the amount of quality being lost? 320 kbs?

I think since both ogg and mp3 uses different algorithms, then there would be lower quality loss at certain bitrates?

    thanks
