I need help I think. I'm about to install this drive (so excited) but I just wanted to make sure the jumper setting is correct the way it is. The two pins in the center : are connected. Is this right? No manual came with the drive. Thanks, Allen. Allen
Ok, I got it! The jumpers were set at slave from the factory and I made them master like the old drive I removed. Now for the firmware. I have BCFC and I can upgrade to BCDC but I've got to do a search on here first to see if that's what I want. Allen
BCFC is the latest, you would be DOWNGRADING rather than updating if you choose to go back to the BCDC~ i've had quite a few great burns using BCDC, but have equally good if not marginally better burns using the BCFC now~ check here for my BCFC firmware scan : http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2/330512 just get your QSuite settings right and you will be good to go~ docTY~
Thank you. I seem to have got it now. I just burned the movie Hostel and ran it through a DVD quality test (Nero). 98%!!!! I burned at 4x speed on Verbatim (MCC) 16x media. I never got above 88-89 before that! This place and the people here are awesome! Allen
Congrats on the new burner fleezbyte. Here's a link to qsuite 2.0 and 2.1. Theres some nice programs in it for your drive: http://support.benq.com/front/BenqM...langu=null&ops=null&GenMenu=&RootId=undefined Solidburn WOPC Qscan-scan blanks to see if they'll work for various speeds. Overspeed Booktype management-in case it isn't set as your default setting. 98% on a 16x verb at 4x is awesome. Was that plus or dash verbs? Usually benqs perform worse at that low speed.Nothing serious, just a few more of those little pif errors. Give 8x a shot on those 16x verbs.
to add the saugmon's you may be well to burn the 8x dvd+r MCC003s @8x too~! check that link i sent ya for catfreak's Benq hall of fame~, i posted a scan of a MCC003 burned @8x too just to compare with the YUDEN000T02~ docTY~ edit. here is the direct link for my MCC003 scan burned @8x http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/4/330512
