ok i just bought this lcd it has a hdmi plug on the back. and I have this for a dvd player also with hdmi plug so heres the problem. i hook the the dvd player to the tv and it says no input signal.... wtf why not???????????? I toggled through the hdmi modes on the dvd player which is 480i 480p 720p and 1080i only one that worked is 480i and being completely new to this HD stuff I went and bought an HD DVD disc... and it doesn't play... that is because i need a dvd player that plays HD DVD correct? I wasted my money right? k so please help me understand what the problem is that i have the cables hooked up and not getting any signal. im confused i dont understand i need help!
there may be a setting on your tv for the dvd player resolution but in not sure. you are using HDMI cables for your dvd player to tv correct? and also you said that that the tv had no imput signal, yet you said you got it to work on 480i, so it does work? as for the HD DVD yeahhhh you have to have a HD-DVD player not a regular DVD player but HD-DVDs are fairly new, and quite expensive. so playing normal DVDs are still great if you feel your missing out on the true HD experience
ok i couldnt figure it out so i called the tv's customer service and they told me to take the hdmi cable out... turn off the dvd player and tv then hook the cable back up and turn em both on it worked and i felt like an idiot. yah so then i bought a playstation 3 and superman blue ray... looked pretty sweet but regular dvd's i have no problem with so im taking the ps3 back. the movie im stuck with
