I can't find enough documentation to tell me about flashing and writing games to the hard drive. Yeap i be lost. if anyone wants to take pity and guide me a bit it would be great. I have the chip installed correctly and hooked it up to my laptop and it finds it but now i am left with what to do next. any help would be great ya never karma may shine back on you. thanks dack
Hello dackcole. Something in your post caught my attention. It's not really topic related (sorry folks) so I'll punch myself in the stomach or something equally painful when I'm done. I just wanted to say thanks for confirming that there is such a person as a network specialist. Someone at work said that I was now one of those. I know I must sound like a pretty cynical (or psychotic) - Okay, who said that? - guy, but I thought this person had fabricated the whole darn thing as a ploy to somehow get a few laughs at my expense. Many thanks to you as I now see that it must be true. [bold]Why dackcole, you even used the D-word![/bold] May the X-Box gods (no, not Microsoft) bless you with infinite turbo boost. Seriously though, good luck with the xbit chip issue. PS I'm logging off now as this won't be pretty.
ok ok i be stupid i am trying to find the program Evolution-X dashboard any one can give me a clue help or have mercy dc
Yo dackcole: Check the sticky in Xbox General. It has detailed info on accessing Xbins on IRC. You will need an FTP client, I would recomend FlashFXP or CuteFTP. Essentially you will msg a bot on their channel which will give you a log in and password. The logon will be your IRC usernam the pass will be emulation. You only have one "pass" to the ftp site per "msg" to the bot. Anyway I am rambling, given your profession you will probably find it easy. At first download Evolution X dash and dvd2xbox program. Booting from your chip, you can use evox to flash the bios, or make a bios boot CD usgig evox dash, large dummy file and a dvd-r. After that dvd2xbox will be the program of choice for dumping games, music and movies to the xbox HD. Good luck. Read that Sticky good!
