hi i noticed on netflix site i went to rent hddvds old movies they showing old movies on hddvd releases they have only 5.1 and dts tracks they arenot hd dts /hd true dts tracks why they are not releasing with hddvd dts tracks then what is the use of hddvd except for the quality of video then whats is the difference between regular dvd and hddvd
As for audio with old releases I would "assume" that the audio wasn't recorded with the quality that they could make a true hd audio transfer in the first place. The old phrase crap in crap out works here. Personally I only buy new movies that would be visually worth it in HD-DVD. That would be different if I was one of those with a $5000 plus projector. I've seen setups in the avs forums that are $28000 just for the properly calibrated crt projector, not to mention the rest of the home theater setup. In that case I would buy every movie I could get in HD.
