i have just received an all in 1 card reader/writer as well as a 1GB Olympus XD card buti am having problems with the 1GB card being read by the reader and it is very frustrating! The reader knows that there are pictures on it and shows these on the computer but when it tries to open them it goes into autoplay for a moment then stops and i get the message "there is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into the drive\Device\Harddisk3\DR22" The thing is i have a 32MB card which the reader does actually read but will not read the 1GB card? When the 32MB card opens along with the DCIM folder there is a WMPInfo.xml file there too, but that is not there when the 1GB card is opened???? anyone any ideas? i have tried formatting the card on the Olympus camera but this does not seem to solve the problem either?? i would appreciate anyones help with this as i am going on my holidays tomo i hope someone out there can help? many thanks eric
Don't try to open them, just transfer them and then view. You can also try to tranfer them directly from the camera if you have that option.
thanks for the reply arcanix, it is much appreciated that you have taken the time to do so. When you say just transfer them to view, how do i do this? i do have the facility to download my pictures from the camera to the PC but the whole idea of buying a reader was to enable me to use it? i am now in the process of returning it to the supplier for recompense. many thanks once again eric
