Hey guys, I am trying to build a pretty decent gaming machine/online 24 hours a day kinda thing, well not 24/7 but every now and then I will leaev the comp on for a couple days, I have a 1000 dollars..and I play CS 1.6 may go source...can you guys give me some tips on what you would do if you could build a computer with a 1000 dollars? I have a monitor..
I suggest you wait till april 22, 2007 before building your computer that is when intel will release the E6650,E6750,E6800, E6320, and E6420 revised core2duos. Or wait for about 5-6 more months till DDR3 hits the market. And then spend 1000 dollars. if not: For the processor get a Core2Duo. ~$220 for 6400 or 6600 for $320 For hard drive get a western digital raptor 10,000rpm for performance $200. Or Seagate 320GB for storage ~$95 Ram depends on motherboard. Ram get 2gb. Power supply ~$70-100 for big wattage one (Thermaltake or Enermax) try to get a modular power supply if possible. Pioneer DVDRW on newegg for ~$35 MotherBoard Depends what you want to run on it (Crossfire,SLI,a single video card) just make sure it has PCI Express 16x Video Card Depends A decent case ~$50. Most important parts= power supply, if you get a cheap one and it craps out it might take your whole computer with it to the grave. Ram= everything will run faster with more ram.
