Hello everyone i have a ? about pc temps I have a AMD athlon xp 2800 and my temps are 65 celsius thats when its been on for like 4hrs when just started up it is usually like 49 or 50 celsius so my ? is would it be smart to replace the fans in it? and if so how do i find out what size fans are in it I have a HP Pavilion a230n if that helps any. Any help or any info would be great thanx
get a replacement cpu heatsink & fan as appears yours might be the original heatsink & fan. also check how dusty the heatsink & fan is as can causing temp to rise if not enough air flow thru heatsink
ddp is it a definate must that I should replace the heatsink and fans because im not going to have that pc for much longer due to im going to build my own so if i dont have to buy a heatsink than i wont but if i dont replace it can it damage the pc or cause a fire?
Look then for a larger or faster spinning fan that has a higher CFM then what you have current. You could also test your PC temps while the side case if off to see if that helps your situation but the normal thing to do is what ddp suggests.
