i have repeatedly tried to burn svcd using vcd galaxy...widescreen movies are narrow, action and otherwise is pixelated, and the sound is like watching a bad kung fu movie. any suggestions on why this is happening would be greatly appreciated...i have followed the directions to the letter coincidently. thank you in advance.

If you are talking about playback in a dvd player i am not surprised, tmpgenc encoded movies seem to have trouble with quality in a dvd player! anyways what was the mpg file like on the computer before you used vcd galaxy to burn?

the mpg wasnt all that great when i used the pc as well....i guess i just need a new program as opposed to tmpge. After further review...and your comments...that might be my problem. any suggestions??

if i ever get a .avi that is already bad quality I dont even bother to convert it because it just gets worse when you do that. Try getting a screener copy they always come out the best. And dont bother making it high quality or highest quality, because with the freeware version of TMPGEnc it doesnt make that much of a difference. GOOD LUCK!

Depends on the birates man. If you were using VBR SVCD then the average birate would more effect the output size! for instace min:300 average:1600 max:2530 would give you an hour on an 80 min cd!

ok...im using eazy vcd...and it worked quite well...the quality is fair on vcd but better on svcd...although it takes more disks. my next problem is that when i burn a full screen it is really narrow from side to side....why is that...quite frustrating really!

yes! the movie im ripping is fullscreen. the bin/cue files version of the movie is fantastic! but the mpeg version is very narrow from side to side, the sound is off, and the quality sucks. am i doing something wrong??? by the way...your advice has helped me tremendously and i greatly appreciate it.
