Hi. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some software that will simply rip a movie from a DVD disc into AVI or MPEG format, giving me a an AVI or MPEG movie, which is of good quality (as far as AVIs or MPEGS go). My aim is to store several movies on a DVD disc in compressed format, for convenient transport. But I don't want the movies to suffer from obvious quality loss. I have tried a couple of programs which do this, but the resulting quality was always atrocious. However, I have seen movies in AVI format made by others which look just fine, so I know I must just not be aware of the software I need to do this properly. Thanks in advance for your help!
