I'm getting an M3 soon with passcard 3. I want to be able to play games on wifi and wireless still. But I'd like to not have to run passcard 3 to save on battery. Can you play online with FlashMe? Can someone explain the differences besides not having to use a card?
Online play works with FlashMe, I have FlashMe v7 installed on my DS Lite and can still play all the wifi games perfectly. The only 2 differences I can think of between using the Passcard3 and FlashMe is that with FlashMe installed, you can recive wireless program that have not be signed by nintnedo, which includes single cart games sent from patched roms. And the other difference being that you have to swap the passcard3 with the original mario kart to use the offline tracks online hack, whereas with FlashMe you just leave mario kart plugged in.
Mario Kart has 32 Tracks, however when you use wifi you only have 20 available, the hack allows you to use 12 of the offline tracks in place of the online tracks. As I have the original game, when I load the hacked mario kart it reads the save file from my original game so that it has all my stats etc. The best thing about this hack is that it does not give the hacker any advantage whatsoever over the other players, so no cheating is possible. Recently Metroid Prime was hacked to allow for things like infinte health for the hacker, this of course will ruin online play for that game now as it will soon be riddled with cheaters.
