Sorry, but I had no idea how to search for any pertinent thread, so I must create! Let's get the tech specs out of the way: xecuter 3 modchip installed (correctly) on v1.6 xbox 120gb hdd dashboard is the latest evox. Now, I had just finished backing up an eeprom and then went to replace it with another, and that worked. got the hard drive locked up. then just to be sure, i went into evox dashboard to under the system menu to verify that hard drive was locked. there i saw two options, "lock hard disk" and "unlock hard disk." i was thinking to myself, "i'm supposed to be locking this, so let's do it." i did it, turned off the box, then went to turn it back on...and this is the point in space and time that i realized something was not quite copasetic. when i power on the xbox, my indicator light says the hard drive activity is non-stop, and that the modchip has been bypassed. nothing shows up on the television. then the red X icon changes to blue (and it sounds like the fan speed slows), but still no video. i have no idea what to do, seeing how i can't even access my xbox. so tell me all-knowing-uhhh-knowers(!), how bad is it, and can it be fixed? Thanks in advance (both for any replies, as well as reading my ramblings) EDIT: After going to the 256k backup, the flashbios gives the following error "Unable to read HDD first sector getting partition table"
Sounds to me like your eeprom and hdd aren't tied together correctly. i.e. you incorrectly changed the eeprom. So when you boot up and you have a locked hdd the eeprom isn't providing the right unlock key to access the hdd. People that sell eeproms of unbanned xbox's will give out instructions on how to change your eeprom. If you don't do it correctly you could end up with an xbox that won't boot.
Sounds like your in trouble! I don't think the OP is correct though, not unless I missed something about a 'Error: 05 / 06': The HDD, is unlocked / The HDD can not unlock, Error. First off you should never use anything other then 'ConfigMagic' to edit / alter / unlock & relock your HDD. It's unusall that you didn't get an Error Seceen Message though... Some usefull questions: Which XBOX™ Version do you own, (i.e. v.1.0, v1.1, v1.2, v1.3, v1.4, v1.5, v1.6a or v1.6b)?? Version 1.0 to 1.3 have a Conextant Video Chip. Version 1.4 & 1.5 have a Focus Video Chip, and Version 1.6a/b have the Xcalibur Video Chip. Useing an improper Firmware, say a Firmware for v1.0~1.5 on a v1.6 (or vise-versa). Could have this effect!!!
