Optical zoom

    I long for the day when you can get more than just X3 optical zoom which seems to be the norm for most compact digital cameras.

    Meanwhile, my friend has bought the new Fuji F30 which has good low light level quality. I am looking on his as a test, as I may get one myself.

    For close up Macro work, I find my 2mp Sony Ericsson K750 is brilliant.

    Must go and do some work :)

    the canon 5.0mp S2IS has 12x optical zoom. and macro AND super macro mode and movie mode (30fps)

    fine camera for a P&S.

    Have you thought of searching for a telphoto lens that is compatible with your camera?
