Hey all, I have set up a server to stream MP3's from my house so that I can listen to them at work. I used Windows Media Services and a bit of hand coded C# to generate ASX files for streaming. Although I am sitting on a 10 meg line, I am looking for ways to optimize my streaming. Does anyone have any suggestions concerning this? Also, what tools should be used for batch optimizing and what settings would you all suggest? What format would be the best for serving over internet? MP3, WMA, SWF (flash), etc. I know that quality is always a factor, but I am fine with moderate quality. I don't think that using the ASX format vs M3U makes any difference since they are just file listings, but I open to being corrected there. Finally, if anyone can offer links to optimzing / running Windows Media Services, i am game for that as well. I apologize if this has been covered in another thread (probably has, lol), but I could not find much on it. As always, I appreciate the comments and thank you all in advance. Tater9104
Hmm... Let me simplify the question a bit. If I am going MP3's, what is the best setting for them, erring on the side of better streaming and is there a program out there that will crawl a directory and set all the files in one go? Thanks
