well I did it. I ended up with P4 3.0 northwood core and the P4 INTEL 865PE BOXD865PERLL M/B I got 2x 512 pc 3200 memory I got all that from newegg. They where great I made use of all the reviews which helped me choose these products. spent $468 I choose the intel M/B over the asus that also came highly regarded.I need firewire and I want the 5.1 analog audio output. I also spent $200 on case ,P/S I got a Super-Flower Silent TT-450SS 450W and cooling I got a Thermaltake CL-P0024 it's like a tunnel ram the cooling fins are raised and turned on end you can mount 2 fans one pushing the other pulling and I got a 12 cm fan for the front of the box today I'm going to order grommets for the P/S and other fans. counting the 4 in the P/S I have 7 fans. that should quiet it down and only a few more bucks I think I did ok I got some good pointers from here
