So I actually managed to follow all the directions and was able to successfully install the softmod.

First I used Action Replay downloaded off the codejunkies.us website and loaded the exploited gamesaves onto a USB flash drive. This makeshift MaxDrive was then plugged into the XBox to USB female adapter and I got the saves onto the XBox hard drive. Then I put in the original Splinter Cell and loaded up the SID Installer and eventually got to having UnleashedX.

Everything's going good at this point. I'm happy. I'm excited to play with XBMC.

I start playing around and testing some functions. I copied Splinter Cell to the hard drive with DVD2XBOX. All good there.

I "obtained" some XBox ISOs and burned Halo, Halo 2, Halo Killtrocity map pack and Fable. These all loaded beautifully and fine.

    HERE IS WHERE TROUBLE COMES

I stupidly click the Xbox Live button on the Fable menu and quickly the XBox began trying to connect (though it was not connected to the internet) and eventually crashed into some network error screen. Then the worst part of all the softmod was undone and I was left staring at the original XBox dashboard.

I figured sure no problem, I'll just redo the mod. I did it exactly as before, put the saves onto a USB flash drive through AR then copied them to the hard drive and loaded up Splinter Cell.

Except, instead of loading into the SID menu, it crashes the game and reboots. I'm getting very frustrated retrying the same methods and I really really need help figuring out what to do next.

Is there a way to downgrade the kernel or dashboard if I accidentally upgraded it? Should I just try a different game and different game save, i.e. MechAssault or Agent Under Fire??

    Please Please Please Help!!!

Hmm, you may need to elect to UNINSTALL the softmod, reboot everything, and then REINSTALL it.

I haven't tried the Splinter Cell version, but I've been able to recover softmods using the MechAssault one... I would ASSUME they should be the same, but I couldn't verify that one.
