A little warning to any Brits ordering from Overclockers UK if you are paying up to £12 for next day delivery.
Once bitten twice shy well i got bitten three times, Ordered a pc on the 15/08/2006 10:26:00 for a mate and payed £12 for next day delivery.
Two and a half days later i sent this e-mail

"Just curious as to why after paying for next day delivery my order is still sat in your warehouse awaiting packing ?"

    And got this reply
"Thank you for your web note please be aware the full systems has to be built and tested before they are shipped, also the next day delivery applies once the goods have been shipped.

    Regards,

    Chris Sanders"

    So i sent this

"Firstly since my order was placed on the 15/08/2006 10:26:00
and I have built my own Pc's I know that it does not take two and a half days to put a computer together I can do it in 45 minutes.
And as for testing where do you send it- British Aerospace ?!
As both items were both in stock (as the green icons indicated) then I would expect to get them the next day which is why I paid just over £12 for the privilege, not when they have been passed to the carrier.
As its now the 17/8/06 and I have not recieved an e-mail saying that my order has been passed to the carrier I will not get it tomorrow so now I might expect to get it on Monday the 21/08/06.
Well so much for NEXT DAY delivery.
I will be taking advice on how I can recover my delivery charges."

To which i got this reply

"Thank you for your webnote. All our systems are build and tested onsite to ensure they are fully working before they are dispatched. The system we build require testing the ensure they work properly as im sure you are aware system using dual graphics card (SLI & Crossfire) and other advanced hardware require more testing then a basic system with fully integrated graphics and sound.

Normally systems are built within 48 hours but during busy times this could be longer.

When you place a order on the website your are requested to select a shipping method which you picked.

City Link (Courier Providers) Parcel (Package Type) Next day Mon - Fri Delivery (Shipping type)

Unfortunately we do not provide a Next day from point of placement service The courier service offers a next day from point of dispatch delivery service. Because of this we would be unable to provide you with a shipping refund.

(they left out THE NEXT DAY delivery part to the Shipping method above)

Every company i have used within the UK if ordered before midday i have recieved NEXT DAY.

The two items were logged as in stock and there was no indication that the Pc had to be built, let alone know that i would get it 6 days later after paying for next day delivery.

I ordered it last Tuesday because i've taken a weeks holiday to be with the kids over the holidays and would have plenty of time to put on antivurus and other tools for my mate who has little knowledge of Pc's.
Oh well its arriving on Monday and he will not get it from me untill next Friday as i work late Mon-Thurs
This is the third time this stunt has been pulled on me and it is the last.
    Be warned.
Ps if there are any alternative Pc wholesale site that AD members have used in the UK i would appreciate the web links.
    Cheers Chris.
