i was wondering i used to have a AMD 2500xp and i used to overclock it to a 3200+ which would show 3200 in the system properties even tho it was a 2500+ anyways my question is i just got a AMD 64 2800 and i been palying around trying to overclock it i been having a couple of problems trying to overclock it with all this new featues BTW i have a DFI Lanpary UT NF3 250gb board one of the questions is if i was to clock the AMD 64 2800+ which runs at 1.8Ghz to like 2.0ghz wouldi ts how on the system properties ? as like a Amd 64 3200 or so? because it has not changed still the same AMD 64 2800 name on the system properties so i was jsut wondering if anyone has try overclocking this AMD 64 Cpus and got it to read the overclock name and how is that exacly determined? thanks!i!
yea i have to check that... i believe theres one update... but is that what determines what the system properties reads as a processor ? or do AMD 64 always display its authentic name even when overclocked... ?
i think it should read higher speed but not certain as i haven't used amd for a few years & haven't oc since using p1s
ahh.. no matter how high i OC it will show me to what Ghz i overclock but it sitll picks it up as a AMD 64 2800+i went to 2.1ghz from 1.8 and still saying AMd 64 2800+, what is sopsoe to be what tricks the system iinto reading a overclock processor as that being the real processor
