I had my processor overclocked at one time, but i reinstalled Windows a couple days ago and it returned all my settings back to Default. I can no longer get on the website i had my settings posted for me. Is there anyone on here familiar with overclocking an Intel Q9550 that could help me?
i have one on a GA-EP45-DS3R mobo. and have had it from 2.83 stock all the way up to 4.12ghz(stable). what are you having a issue with? what type of mobo do you have and what kind of OC are you wanting?
well not knowing anything about theP5Q(which i want. lol) i doubt anything id be able to tell you would work. im sure the settings would be close. but i doubt they would be good enough.
well i have a program that came with the the MOBO called the EPU6 engine. were you can just point and click and it does like an instant power setting and it has a "turbo" overclock mode. I highly doubt it's anything extreme. but I found out today that my MOBO disc doesn't work with the Windows 7 i installed today. =[
and here is the man that will help you find your goal. he has both the board and the CPU, and has a far great more amount of knowledge about this than myself. Soph will get it right for you.
Did you set your memory strap to 266 MHz? If so then raise your FSB to 400 and then slowly work up from there. BTW, you're going to have raise your vcore to at least 2.36 to start or it will crash.
Prox Forget moving your FSB to 400 I just noticed that you have a C1 stepping. Move it up from 333.3 MHz to 375 MHz. That should be workable.
Sorry and I did mean 1.26v. Must have been a type-o. In the first set of settings I had you set it to 1.275v which might a be a little higher than you need for starts. You can always raise it later if you detect some instability. Let me know how it turns out. Got go to sleep for now.
