Hi I upgraded from dial up to broadband. Which was successful until I tried to hook up to the net, I lost all internet explorer.
I rang my i.s.p and they said it wasnt their problem as they only supply the internet.
i rang my p.c support line and they directed me to my i.s.p who eventually said to re-install my browser from the cd they gave me.
This i did only to have the whole p.c crash i lost everything.
I had to install windows all over again
Would anyone have any theories as to y this may have happened???

Did you get the broadband up and running, after you re-installed Widows?

Even if you pooched something, while installing the broadband, I don't see how it would have screwed anything up, unless you installed some software that the ISP gave to you. You don't need ANY software to get your broadband up and running.

Optus sent me out a cd rom to activate b/band as well as the modem and cables.
After I activated it my internet was gone even though I was connected to it??
Optus said to go into the cd and install the browser again after this was done the p.c had to be restarted which i did.
When it came back on i had error messages "could not find dll. and lots of others like that wouldnt even go to welcome page just a blank screen
