    Hey p33pz.

I just got done soft modding and painting an XBOX I picked up for $20.

Reason for the low price was its nasty appearance and DVD tray was getting stuck.

Jumped on to AD and found exactly how to fix it up by simply cleaning the rubber belt.

Disassembled the entire machine and sanded it down really good.

Check it out. I used the textured paint and it's really nice looking IMO.

Thanks, I plan to alter the Jewel and also replace 2 of the stock xbox input connections with simple usb ports so when I use DSL I can just hook my keyboard/mouse straight up without the need of my crappy looking homemade XBOX/USB converter.

You are aware you can buy converters, the short version is like a thumb drive,so's about 1-1/2 long with transparent body & a blue LED,the other i have has a 1 foot long cable with it & is also transparent including the cable coating,no LED,the short adaptor came with the smartxx chip, the other was bought online

True. I may get 1 of those but that costs money and time.

I could do what I'm talking about with random stuff around the house.

I already own a soldering iron and plenty of of USB hubs I can take apart and use for this purpose.

But I do appreciate your input.
