I am sending occasional DVD's of British TV progs (mostly kids stuff, Dr Who etc) to relatives in the US. If I record them in PAL to DVD for use here can I then somehow recode the DVD directly to NTSC or must I go through the whole business twice on Nero??
Many thanx in advance for your advice Brian

I get UK DVD's and use this method to convert them to NTSC.

I rip the PAL DVD to a folder then load the files into VobBlanker.
Open 'VIDEO_TS.IFO' and select an output folder.

Right click on each VOB file and change the attributes as shown.
'Process!!' the files, 'Quit' and burn a new disk from the folder - I use Imgburn for burning.

Since a PC will accept PAL or NTSC, you might want to see if it plays on your standalone - I know many UK machines will accept NTSC.

Caveat is that some people can't get this to work - that's why I do it from my end - I can then use other methods if I have to.

Many Thanks, Attar, for your helpful advice - I will be trying out this route on my next set of Beatrix Potter stories destined for small relatives in California. Brian(beemacdee)
