WOW - It is unreal. I recorded 6 movies to the hard drive and then dubbed them to the DVD-R and erased them from the hard drive. 2 annoying factors. 1)Scheduling is done manually. 2)dubbing is in real time. I have Direct TV and they allow you to record to a VCR directly from a menu. The Panasonic codes do not work with this machine. Does anyone know what codes to use?
what kind of files do you get when you put the dvd in your computer. I heard that they are not vob, ifo, and bup. Can you modify and edit the videos on your computer now.
Just got the machine on Saturday and have been recording and playing on portable DVD player only. I haven't looked at the files on the computer yet. This is something I will do shortly.
You would need to check with Direct TV for the codes; if they exist. I would think that they would have to be downloaded; as these stand alone recorders are relatively new.
