Suddenly stopped reading any discs and got a No Read message on the front panel. I made sure that the discs was clean, but it does not want to read anything.

In general, this is caused by the optical pick up not 'seeing' the disk. This is sometimes caused by a dirt on the laser diode or the optical pick up (OPU). Carefully cleaning the laser and OPU with denatured alcohol or a cleaner formulated for OPU *may* solve the problem. If not, the entire OPU is damaged and replacement is the only repair. The problem is, most of the time the cost of the part + labor is more than a new unit.
    Good luck

    Thanks for the info.

I am sending the unit back to Panasonic. Since I just brought it February 2007, it was still under warranty, so it is no charge to me.
