I hope this is the correct place to put this. I just got a PANASONIC SW-9571 and I put it in a USB 2.0 box. I ran all the drivers from CD and such. I reboot and it see the drive as a DVD-RAM. But no matter what I do I can't read a thing from the drive let alone write to it.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

Ok here is the deal. What driver does this thing use? When I display driver it show the same driver as my CD burner. When I search drivers on my PC all are for CD -R's. Should I see a DVD-RAM driver?

    Thanks

I am surprised. I am using a QUE dvd burner which has the same SW-9571 burner in it (basically manufactured by Matshita). Everything works great for me. I have windows 2000 prof and my software is RecoedNowMax. Also dont have tons of burning softwares on your machine. If possible have only 1.

I didn't. I took it out of the USB box and installed it into my tower. Then it worked. Since I travel 6 days a week I just did not have the time to mess with getting the USB box working.
