bought camera in USA, have used couple of times but recently tried to copy to dvd dsc. transferd to h/drive from both sides of dvdram naming them film 1 and film 2, used nero to burn both films off dvd ram dsc to 4.7gb dsc did it OK. But when i put the dsc in dvd player it says dvd_rtav film 1 film 2 it wont play on any dvd player but will play on computer, Checked the file of dvd_rtav and the files are VR MANGR back up file of the IFO 128kb VR MANGR dvd movie info 128kb VR MOVIE VRO file 1,310,818 anyone got any suggestions how to solve my problem.
Is this newly burned disk a regular DVD+/-R or a DVD-Ram. If it's a DVD-Ram disk, not all DVD players will accept it. If it's a regular disk, then the files are named wrong. A DVD-Video disk contains two folders, VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. The VIDEO_TS folder contains VOB, IFO and BUP files. Also, if the camera came from the US I assume it is saving the video as NTSC however the likes of NERO usually issues a warning and will convert it to PAL if required (I'm only assuming that you are not in North America).
1 its a regular dvd-r dsc 2 the files are named by the camcorder i didn't name them they are, dvd_rtav click on that folder and there is 3 folders named vr mangr vr copy vr movie vro file. 3 how can i convert these folders so i can copy to a regular dvd-r dsc and be played on any stand alone dvd player.
Open DVD_RAV and drag the file VR_MOVIE.VRO to the desktop. Add .MPG to the end of the name. Either use Nero to make the DVD using the renamed file or: Run this program and load the file. http://dl.afterdawn.com/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_v0.5.2b.exe Import the file(s) (AVI, WMV,MPEG, VOB) Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD. Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv) Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America) Burn dvd with 'ImgBurn' http://www.imgburn.com/ put blank dvd in drive. Run ImgBurn Mode > 'Build' Output > 'Device' File > 'Browse for Folder', highlight on the 'VIDEO_TS' folder, > 'OK' Set burn speed to 4x and click the green write button.
