Yes, the demo and the full version both are burned to a cd and you use it to boot up your computer. I've actually had good results using this program to repair my windows xp pro computer when it was hanging up at the log-in screen. This program is handy to have if you use acronis true image (or other similar drive imaging software) to restore hard drives where the drive letters sometimes get changed. I've only had to use it once, but it was worth the price. In 3 days of troubleshooting my computer this program is the only thing that got my system to boot.
