can anyone tell me where i can get some free software so i can partition the hard drive on my lap top?tried google search and it comes up with a free trail for partition magic but what happens when the trial runs out?
usually best to partition the hdd when first installing your operating system but since youve already got it installed youll need to defrag your hdd first so that all the sectors are up the top end of the drive. as for the partition software there is one on the WindowsXP\2K cd but it might go tits up since youve already got the OS installed. tbh there no real need for partitions now that NTFS is here apart from it looking more organised but if you go mental (like me) you end up with drives up to letter T:
the reason it is partitioned now is because it automaticaly is done when the computer was bought 5 weeks ago with the acer set up discs when you install windows home edition and the other rubbish that comes with it.it gave me no way of stopping this from happening.is there anyway i can get partition magic free....i hate paying for software!!!
ffs, bulletin software designed by monkeys on rollerblades. just google for 'freeware partition software' a few came up but i dunno what theyre like.
