   I'm sorry if this post is not appropriate for this area but could not find a match.
   With the use of patch cords, I have connected my PC to my Denon receiver. The sound is tinny. Does anybody know why or have suggestions? My PC is an HP 780N.

   Check out from your soundcards settings that you don't have any spatial effects enabled.
