My pc just went last week. had to get man out who said it was microsoft that went bad so he had to re-install windows.He has put in xp. Think i had one up from that originally. Since he has done that i have no sound! I either get a error code C00D11BA or it tells me i have no sound card or driver and to reinstall! Can soneone help me please? (Also this man said when he re-installed windows that i would lose everything and pc would be like a blank sheet. Although nothing is on show it is all on hard drive and i am slowly getting it back.He checked it afterwards and said everything was gone but it wasnt? Has he mucked up my pc and should i get someone else out?) Thanx in advance!
Do you have a hardware disk that came with your motherboard? If so run it and install all the drivers. XP doesn't have all the sound drivers you need.. cmi8331 is a glaring omission.. Try this link for a quick free hardware scan, and follow any suggestions about sounddrivers. http://pcpitstop.com/
hi, thanx for replying. Tried that site and it said my drivers are up to date! I've been to microsoft sites and installed every update i could but still nothing! I dont even have the sound icon on my tool bar!! Any other suggestions please?
