recently i have reintalled win on my pc and have changed the sequence of my drives i.e cd rom, cd-r and dvd writer.which is the best sequence for the drives to be installed on a pc?Any advice will be much appreciated.
Until I have to actually use a CD to boot from, I have the hard drive first, and the CD/DVD drive second.
are you referring to the drive order in windows? (as in C:, D:, E:...) or do you mean the boot sequence of the drives as grandpa mentioned? If you mean that windows as renamed the letters of your drives, thus changing the order the appear, you can easily change them to whatever you want. control panel > administrative tools > computer management click on disk management under storage. you should see all your drives on the right. right click on the one you want to change, and select change drive letter and path. you can then select whatever letter you want. but note that you can't choose one already used by another drive. so for example if you want your dvd burner to be D, but your CDROM is currently D, chance your CDROM to something else first, then your dvd burner to D. hope this helps.
