pc music sounds fast (like chipmunks)

    my windows media player is speeding up the sound of any music. It happens when i listen to the radio over the net also when i play a cd and listen to it. Can someone help me.

    Switch to WinAmp. I seldom use Windows Media player.

    hmm, sounds like a problem with sampling rates being different for example 41 000 khz > 48 000 khz, which would make it sound wierd and maybe fast in your case(i think it could). So try reinstalling the drivers from your sound card, and see if that helps any. also did you ever have your sound sounding ok on that computer?
