I have an XP Dell E520 machine. It will not let me connect to internet even though I am showing a strong connection status in connectivity. I have tried to do a system restore to an earlier date but again it wont let me. Any suggestions apart from throwing it through the window lol

Exactly what happens when you try a system restore? Crash? System Restore won't open? Can you run ant-virus and anti-malware apps? What kind of connection? Ethernet or phone line?
When I ask for system restore and it offers me dates to try it then says the system cannot be restored to that date. I have AVG anti virus and spybot running on the machine and they can run no problem. I have an ethernet wired connection. Many thanks for any help you can give me.
