does it by chance say you have 20 secs and it is closing down. Then it shuts down and restarts.

Well we have installed the graphics and it has been fine, not sure if thats the reason for it?

Also i found out it also happens in other apps, like outlook, i opened up an email and clicked on the link, it froze and restarted.

And no the only way i can tell its going to restart is because the whole computer frezes then after a few seconds it restarts.

something similar ddp, you could bypass the shutdown by going to start/run and typing something in(cant remember)

Well, have you tried the normal recommendation lists in "safe mode"?

    CCleaner
    Ad-Aware SE Personal
    Spybot S&D
    Microsoft-AntiSpyware
HiJackThis (it's good if you know what you're looking for)
    BHODemon
    Zone Alarm (free)
    AVG Free Edition
Or any of your desire antivirus applications

I'm not sure about Win98SE, but for Win XP or XP Pro: go to START, RUN and type "msconfig", then click on BOOT.INI and click on SAFEBOOT, Apply and OK, now Windows should restart automatically in safemode boot.

May be Creaky or ddp migh know how to boot or restart from safemode on Win98SE.

    Thanks :)

We have a few things to keep us busy :)

On the new comp we need to put all the software back on (it had to be wiped) and other things. We need to put in a TV Tuner (shouldnt be too hard, if so will ask for help :) )

Not sure what else... Oh yeah, hope that the other 10gb harddrive in the old comp is still alive, i will cry if its wiped, it has stuff i dont want to get again, especially with my internet speed :(
