my sister took my laptop so i dont have right now but she says she turned it on the HP logo comes up and a line blinks in the corner then it says os not installed so have i lost everything? was running vista ultimate before id like to recover data if possible i was thinking if my data is still there i can boot up through my usb hdd it has ubuntu on and then burn it to cd then format the internal and install xp or vista again if its a hardward problem i have warranty on it. it was fine and working earlier
yea if you have an os on a usb drive boot to that and then try to see the drive and recover the data. if you had data recover enabled you should get an option to revert to the last known good edition of your windows. so check there first. if none of those work, sounds like you lost it all.
