i just bought a pci capture card for my computer and tv, it only has a compisite and s-video input, i dont have either of those on the tv, so i used this converter thing (like a rf switch for a game console, except its for tv's and dvd players) that has an s-video conector on it. so i connect an s-video to the computer and a coaxial to the tv and am getting nothing. anything wrong here? do i have to connect the s-video directly to the tv or what?

You are answering your own question, you have a capture card with video inputs this is normal and expected. It sounds like it may not have video outputs so how are you going to hook it up to your TV. You will also need a software program to capture your video and sound unless the PCI card included that.
