In your phonebook find an entry and click edit...there should be a line for ringer id and photo if your phone is a camera phone...then highlight the ringer id line and click change scroll through the ringtones on your phone and choose the one you want.

This may not be any help at all, but... I have a Motorola V180 that has what I consider a very odd quirk - I can only assign ringer IDs to numbers stored to my phone's memory, not to numbers stored to my sim card. I know yours is a different phone and it may not be the same at all, butif you haven't tried it already, pick one of your phone book entries saved to your sim card and save it to your phone. On my phone, entries saved to the phone book have a menu selection for ringer id.

Yes, you cannot assign to sim card...only phone memory in the v400, v710, t720 all the phones I have had are the same way.

I know how. Go to the person's phone number in your phone book (whomever you want to set a ringtone for)and select EDIT. Then scroll down, you'll see a Ringer ID line. Select edit/change. It will take you into your ringtones - scroll down and find the one you want, then select it. You must hit done. And you're set!
