Hello, I have this Philips 8421 Dvd/Cd burner, when burning onto 5 gig dvd's there is no problem. But when I want to burn onto a 9 gig dvd, I get something like this, media problem dvd 8421 10 11 w2. I tried to find a firmware update but no success. Even tried to find an update on the HP website since the dvd burner came with the HP PC. Any suggestions are greatly appreceated. Thank-you
if you are using cheaper DL disks, try Verbatim ones. Many people have found this works. I don't work for Verbatim!

Well, I downloaded the updated firmware for the burner, but to no avail still having the same problems. I'll have to try Indocine's advice and if that still doesn't work I guess I'll have to get a new burner. Thank-you for the help guys.
