I have this player but the fan is noisy when doing nothing, it speeds up and slows down basically all the time when it isn't doing anything. I read about firmware upgrades somewhere else, I am just curious as to how you update it?

I have also bought the same philip DVD recorder.That running fan kept me worrying.Thanks for the URL provided. Can you please help i tried to record last night from a DVD player to this same philip DVD recorder the messages displayed "decompressed" how do compressed this disc so that i can record and continue doing further recordings,recording from tele is fine but from another disc it wount happen please help!!!!!!!!!
