OK.. im sorry.... The DVD Player is the Philips DVP642 DivX Player... Eitherway... I dont have the instruction manual and the manual would not be able to help me. What I need is a Stroke guide for the remote control to tell me how to turn off the Progressive Scan in the Setup Menu. for example... Press System Menu... Press "select" button...press down Arrow twice.... Something like that^^ I need to turn Progressive scan OFF. I'm using it on a regular TV and the guy who gave it to me left the Porgressive Scan ON... so now on my regular TV I dont see anything from composite output. Thanks.

Did you ever get an answer for this? I came across this post when trying to search for something. I have this same DVD player. All you do to turn off Progressive Scan is 1. Press System Menu 2. Scroll to Video Setup 3. Press OK 4. Scroll to Progressive 5. Press right arrow 6. Select OFF 7. Press System Menu to exit
