If I get at least 256 MB of RAM (Im planning to buy 512 MB of RAM) for my 233 Mhz Pentium MMX Laptop will I see a noticeable difference on Windows 98 SE?

how much ram does it have now? how much ram total does the laptop support? is the laptop a p1 or a p2? most likely it does not use regular desktop ram.

ddp,the MMX is a "tweener". It is in between a P1 and a P2. It is also between a boat anchor and a museum, but I still boot mine up sometimes. :)

it also all depends on what software you're using your laptop for. win98 doesn't really suck up or require that much ram, unlike newer OS systems like winXP, so if you're just using basic applications, 256 should be ample, and you definately don't need more than 512.

GrandpaBW, the mmx wasn't a "tweener" as it was introduced at the p1-166 level. so till the p1-200 you also had a p1-200mmx than just p1-233mmx. all intel cpu's including p4's have mmx built in.
