I have the same problem, but has anyone else had there cpu running at a 100% the whole time whilst rendering.
I have nothing else on the pc but pinnacle 9 and it is a fresh install of windows xp pro with service pack 1,also it is not on the net.
I have shut down programs that may interfere with the program and still it runs at a 100%.I am using an AMD prosessor that runs at 2.16ghz I have 1 gig of ram and have an radeon 9700 graphics card.
I have been in touch with pinnacle who tell me to install the latest patch, but on reading this forum am in doubt.i am up to 9.4.2.
thanks for any help on this matter.

This is Normal for most Editing/Encodeing Programs...Your CPU should Spike to 100% when rendering because rendering is extremely CPU Intensive and it would Be sorta stupid to Have your CPU rendering at 75% when it could render 33% faster at 100% CPU Utilization....

    Cheers
