Hi, Following the discussions on the forums I decided to go and buy the Pioneer A04 for making back-ups of my PS2 games. Searching through the web for a reasonable price I discovered Pioneer is soon introducing the A05. It is suppose to be faster then the A04. What should I do, buy the 'A04' or wait for the 'A05'? Any suggestions?
A05 has been released already. It depends a little bit -- most of us can wait for slightly longer for DVDs to burn. And also the faster discs cost ridiculously compared to good old 1x discs (that takes about 1h to burn and 4x discs take about 15mins to burn). But if the A05 pricing is going to be almost identical to A04 without Pioneer giving any huge rebates to A04, obviously the choice is A05. But then again, when A05 comes to stores and if it causes A04 prices to drop dramatically, I would buy A04 (let's say that if they drop from current UK level of £199 to £130-140 and start selling A05 for £200-220, I would buy A04). But the thing is always with computers that the "Next Big Thing" is always coming and if you wait for it, you'll wait for the rest of your life without purchasing anything
Ah, yes. I know your pain, I've been holding back my plans to buy my fifth Porsche 911 GT2 Carrera, since I've got a family and the new Porsche Cayanne is about to be launched by January.. Tough call. Even though buying girlfriends isn't that much of an issue normally, you can resell them to countries that still endorse the ancient art of human slavery, normally with decent profits as well.
You see, it is always the layman that gets that wrong, you see, us Porsche owners really get annoyed by that. The 911 does not exist anymore (it is 1 996) and a '911' (Carrera) is not actually a GT (2 or 3) either. This does confuse some people, glad to set the record straight! ;-) Paul.
Shit, should always check the facts. Surely you know more about the girlfriend trade biz than me as well -- you could probably hand out some valuable tips where to sell quite heavily used pair of old exes?
I resent that, just because I own (collect) Porsches, that means I must have to pay for a girlfriend too! Shit, any girl will happily shag a Porcsch driver. Problem is, I don't have a driving licence! Paul. PS, just checked my spelling, decided not to change it, as it reflects my state of mind!
Ah, sorry. I just thought that you would have a good insight, as you work in the same biz sector anyway. Everybody knows that landlords, human trafficking, drugs smuggling, prostitution and illegal gambling belong together ;-)
Hey Guys, Thanks for the remarks on the A04 and A05. Specially dRD. The Porche discussion I though was less intersting in my view but still... I think I go for the (probably) cheaper and faster A05. Next year the faster DVDs will be the same price as the 1x now (I hope) and I can use the speed later. Thanks
