I have a Pionerr PDP427XD plasma and a Pioneer DCS-353 DVD player. I am thinking of the pioneer VSX-2016AV-S this may be a very stupid question but my question is how do I connect my DVD player to the AV reciver? DVD player doesnt have any optical inputs only HDMI
I think you mean outputs. It doesn't have a digital coax either? (usually color coded orange or black rca output) I did a search at Pioneer's site, for both dvd player model numbers, and nothing came up for either one. If it has HDMI, you'd think it was new enough to show up......... oh well.
no it doesnt have coax either. http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/42/100/42/DCS-353/index.html I have tried connecting the hdmi but dont get any sound from the rear speakers the 2016 is an amp
It's probably a setting in the setup menus.............. I'd take that back, and get something with inputs and outputs. I don't care for the all-in-one HTIB's, for reasons such as this (no inputs and outputs). They are better than nothing, I guess, and you probably bought what you thought you could afford, but for a little bit more money, you should be able to get better. If you must get an HTIB, get one with separate receiver and dvd player, so you'll have the outputs needed. Good luck!
