can any one help, I've just bought a MEDION MD2685 and when I've installed it it lists itself as a PIONEER DVR-106D. I'm using windows xp home edition and it tells me the device is working allright, but when I tried to copy a cd using clone cd I get this message: writing to cd failed, UNIT ATTENTION:pOWER ON,RESET,OR BUS DEVICE RESET OCCURED (6:0x29:0x00)
Also it won't read any discs dvds or cds.
    anyone know whats wrong?

Medion computers use an OEM version of the Pioneer DVR-106D. You should probably update the firmware to make it a full-fledged Pioneer. But be sure to read up on firmware updating - as any mistake can fry your drive! I have a Medion 8030 with a 106D and I just went from firmware 1.05 to 1.07 with no problem.

I solved my problem I took the Median back to Aldi and got my money back and bought a proper Pioneer 106D from Hackers, it only cost me £7:00 more and it works perfectly staight from installation, once again thanks for the interest shown.
