    Hello All,
    Basically I bought this OEM package online and had a little help instaling it into my computer. I have been trying every software I have possible to burn a video to my DVD player and it doesn't work. The video was edited on Premiere Pro. I tried using their feature burn to DVD, Nero DVD burn and DVDit! All of them show that they are transcoding and then stop with a "DVD Error" message. I am using DVD -R that came with my drive. I burned a Nero Data DVD but I have ZERO luck with video.

    Please help,
    becky

    Becky,

    Use a free ripper , like DVD Decrypter or Smartripper to unencrypt the original DVD (after playing a minute of the DVD in a PC DVD Player of course...this unlocks it)
    Then if the ripped files are over 4.36Gb you'll need to compress via DVD2One or similar.
    DVD Shrink is free & can be used to rip/unencrpyt & compress... (plus it has Nero compatibilty)
    Nero Burning Rom (in DVD-Video mode) , you will need to add all the ripped VOB/BUP/IFO files into red VIDEO_TS folder ... burn baby burn ;-)

    All free software mentioned above is in Afterdawn Software section.

    I am actually not starting from a pre-made DVD. I made my own video with home footage with editing software. Now I can't get it onto a dvd. But, thanks for the info. It helps me on another level. Can you help me with this?

    Yes :)

    Firstly , what format is it when you have transferred from home footage to PC/HDD ... .avi / .mpeg ??

    Either way , you could use the same apps as I would use which is;

    MainConcept MPEG Encoder 1.4
    TMPGEnc DVD Author
    Nero 6

    (if you need a bit of help , just holla)

    Well I have the new nero software, DVDit and Premeire PRo. I tried all of these. I tried bringing the footage seperately in as a .AVI in addition to transocoding from Premeire straight to DVD or making .mpeg2 DVD format files. I always get the same error. They transcode and say they will start to burn and then DVD ERROR. Is there a certain bit rate that I should burn at? Do you know what that specific error usually means?
