pioneer dvr 107 or plexor 708a?

    hi people, i am wanting a dvd burner, and i was wondering which one i should get, at first i was going to get the plextor 708a on ebay but i didnt win the bid, i am still thinking of getting the plextor708a, but now that i have seen a pioneer 107. So i dont know what to get! Please could you help me to whihc dvd burner i should get, or if there is a better one, please tell me

    Depends on who you ask. I love my PX-708A and highly recommend it, but Oriphus speaks highly of the Pioneer 107 which means it's a damn good drive.

    The Plextor will only write 8X with the +R format but has the advantage of being able to do so with quality 4X +R's which are cheaper than the new 8X media. It also has VariRec writing mode which is the shiznit if you're backing up the new SecuRom protected PC games - although BlindWrite still needs to work on it a bit.

    On the other hand, the Pioneer 107 is specced to write at 8X with both formats which is really nice. Pioneer also has an outstanding reputation for putting out quality drives that perform extremely well.
