Hello, as of recently i've been getting alot of Session Fixation errors with my dvd burner (Pioneer DVR-109). It occurs randomly and actually burns properly every once in awhile, about 1 in 5 discs actually work.
The media im using is a no-name brand, but it has worked for me heaps of times..first 10 worked properly, then this problem started happenening.Nothing has changed with hardware, havent added anything or removed anything and nothing has been changed.Im using Nero (the newest one) to burn this.

Anyway, here is the log from Nero:

    [bold]Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. AE1 [/bold]

Do yourself a favor and purchase a small quantity of quality media such as TY or Verbatim and try it again. I bet you will not have even 1 bad disk.

And as far as never having a problem before, poor media goes bad and each batch purchased can be different from another batch previously purchased.

I tried burning again this morning, and it worked perfectly. Bad media can't possibly explain why it's working randomly at times. It makes no sense?

actually, it makes PERFECT sense, poor quality media is very difficult to pinpoint a "success rate" on...as it varies from batch to batch, and often times the manufacturer changes among the SAME BRAND too~ :)

also, you need to free up more memory, you have plenty at 1 gig, but it's 85% used~! close some unnecessary progs. down prior to your burn...
i happen to have this same drive as you, trust me, it DOES NOT LIKE CRAP media, ie. in your case the CMC MAGs...whether or not the previous ones burned fine or not...i am willing to bet they won't be "fine" later down the road...

media is one of THE most important things when burning...most people think they can get the cheapest, no-name branded dvd blanks and expect GREAT results because their system/hardware is all top of the line..this is UNTRUE on so many levels...

do yourself a favor, get some good media and shut down some of your other progs. before burning...multitasking is NOT a good idea during the burn...

and for using CMC MAGs, def. do NOT burn them @8x like you are doing now...on Taiyo Yudens, go right ahead, i burn my TYs @8x all day long, but using CMC MAGs...chances are, you will get a coaster..which you have PROVEN to yourself over and over again...as pointed out here:
    docTy~

First off it's free advice and if you purchased quality media you have nothing to lose since you'll use them anyway. I would just give it a try and see for yourself. :)
